Long Time No Blog Entry... Wednesday, June 17th, Day 6

Things are getting busy with the year end and finals approaching. Here is an overview of what has been and will be happening until the end of the year.

ELA 7 - Students have been working hard on their productions of "Every Day is Earth Day". They will be performed on MONDAY, June 22nd at 11:15 in the LHS Drama Theatre. All parents and other family members are invited to watch.

PAA8 - We are officially done cooking for the year. The students have done some awesome labs including beverages, breakfast and quickbreads. We also cleaned and organized the kitchen. Job well done!

PAA 9 - ONE MORE CLASS - tomorrow (Thursday) - to finish both hand sewing and design projects.

HLTH 9 - We are just finishing up our sexed unit. We have discussed pregnancy, contraception, and STIs. Students have all received a final outline and our final exam in on Wednesday at 1:00.

SOCIAL 9 - We have also just finished up our First Nations unit. Our final exam for Social is Tuesday, at 9:00.

SOC 10 - Students have been working on their research essays, which are due on Friday. Final exam for Social is Monday at 1:00.

ELA 20 - We just finished up the "Job Search" assignment, and our radio script assignments and novel responses are due on Friday, June 19th. Our final exam for ELA is Tuesday at 1:00.

Friday, June 5, Day 4

PAA 9 - Only three more sewing classes left! Students are getting their projects done! Good work.

SOC 9 - AS IS TURNS OUT WE ARE IN NEED OF ONE MORE DRIVER FOR OUR FIELD TRIP ON MONDAY/TUESDAY. IF WE DO NOT HAVE A DRIVER WE CANNOT ATTEND THE TRIP. PLEASE CONTACT MS. PRINCE ASAP IF YOU CAN DRIVE.

In class we worked on the economic structure of First Nations businesses in SK and Canada today.

ELA 7 - We finished up presenting our inquiry projects today. Good work to all!

ELA 20 - We finished our valedictorian speeches today.

SOC 10 - This class was used to do research for our essays. Lots of work was accomplished.

Thursday, June 4, Day 3

PAA 8 - We corrected some questions on cookies and quickbreads, and then planned our labs for the next three classes. We will be doing another quick bread lab, as well as a breakfast and beverage lab. Only three more classes left!

HLTH 9 - Today we covered some information on conception and pregnancy!

ELA 7 - More planning was spent on our plays.

ELA 20 - Our last panel group went today, and we also got to listen to some great valedictorian speeches. The rest will go tomorrow.

SOC 10 - More class time was given to work on our research essays.

Wednesday, June 3, Day 2

SOC 9 - Students worked on a information sheet dealing with First Nations economics and social systems.

ELA 7 - Students started some planning for their "Every Day is Earth Day" play.

ELA 20 - Students had time to work on valedictorian speeches, as well as resumes and cover letters.

SOC 10 - Students worked on doing research for their essays.

Tuesday, June 2, Day 1

PAA 9 - Only FIVE classes left!!!! We worked on hand sewing and design projects.

ELA 7 - These classes were used to present our inquiry projects.

ELA 20 - We worked on valedictorian speeches - Due on Thursday.

SOC 10 - Finished up WTO questions and started looking for information for our research essays.

Monday, June 1, Day 6

SOC 9 - We corrected our treaty questions and had discussions on the fairness of the treaties in Canada.

ELA 7 - We started another assignment today. This will be the last major project of the year!!!! Students have all been given a script for a play called "Earth Day Every Day". The class will be divided into two groups to perform the play. They will receive part(s) and will then have to work together to create costumes, props, sets, lights, and sound. We did a reading of the script, and students will find out their parts tomorrow. Also, tomorrow we will start presenting our inquiry projects.

ELA 20 - Since pretty much the whole class was gone today for the Phys Ed. field trip, we spent some time working on either valedictorian speeches (Due Thursday, June 4), resumes and cover letters (Due Tues, June 9th) and reading our novels (Due Thursday, June 11th).

SOC 10 - The students received their unit five research essay assignment and topics today. We also corrected our questions on NAFTA and the EU.
